If you're anything like me, the highlight of the dog calendar is Crufts – that magical four-day extravaganza where the best of the best (and the fluffiest, most talented, and downright adorable) come together under one roof. Mark your calendars, because Crufts 2026 is just around the corner: Thursday 5 March to Sunday 8 March 2026 at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in Birmingham, UK.This year promises to be bigger, bolder, and more pawsome than ever. Here's everything you need to know so far!

Record-Breaking Scale and Global Appeal

Organised by the Royal Kennel Club, Crufts 2026 is set to welcome a staggering 18,698 dogs – that's up 123 from last year and a new high! Competitors are flying in from all over the world, including far-flung spots like New Zealand, Argentina, and Peru. In fact, there are a record 4,299 international entries this time around – some pups traveling over 11,000 miles just to strut their stuff.Popular breeds are leading the pack: Labradors top the charts with 547 entries, hotly followed by Golden Retrievers. And it's not just pedigrees – vulnerable British and Irish native breeds are getting strong support with 2,602 entries across 39 breeds, helping shine a light on heritage dogs that need our love.

Daily ScheduleWhich Group Is Your Favourite?

The show spans four action-packed days, each dedicated to specific breed groups:

Thursday 5 March – Working & Pastoral groups (think majestic Great Danes, hardworking Border Collies, and loyal German Shepherds).

Friday 6 March – Terrier & Hound groups (feisty Jack Russells, elegant Afghan Hounds, and more).

Saturday 7 March – Utility & Toy groups (those pocket-sized charmers like Pomeranians and the sophisticated Poodles).

Sunday 8 March – Gundog group (retrievers, spaniels, pointers – the hunters and fetch masters), wrapping up with the iconic Best in Show judging in the evening.
