DON'T DRIVE AWAY

DON'T DRIVE AWAY

A Poem written by my daughter aged 13. After the tragic death of our dog.

When I looked in your eyes, what did I see ?

Loving and loyalty looking back at me

You were my companion, my true found friend

I loved and adored you right to the end

The tears in my eyes, that terrible day

That car just took your life away

Driving off without a second glance

You maybe alive, if given a chance

Through my eyes I cried like the rain

I prayed it was quick, without any pain

I remembered the good days we shared and we had

Though deep in my heart I do remain sad

I love and I miss you so very much

I close my eyes, and your face I can touch

I hope they have guilt for driving away

As my heart was broken in two that day

Who can I turn to, my family's in grief

I lay on my bed, praying my heart get relief

The picture of you lying there, cold, alone and in despair

Will haunt in my mind forever more

I hate to think of your body all sore

Accidents happen, what can I say

BUT FOR THE SAKE OF OUR FAMILY'S

DON'T DRIVE AWAY
