For an accurate fit, fasten your dog’s current collar at the hole normally used, lay it in a natural circle and measure around the inside circumference. If this measurement is between approximately 16 and 19 inches, this collar should fit comfortably.
CARE AND SOFTENING
Premium full-grain, vegetable-tanned leather may feel firm when new. This is a natural characteristic of strong, minimally processed leather. With gentle handling and regular use, the leather’s oils and waxes redistribute through the fibres, allowing it to soften naturally while retaining its supportive shape.
Avoid applying saddle soap, leather oil, polish or heavy conditioner when the set is new. Over-conditioning may soften the leather too quickly, darken it or affect the natural hair-on surface.
- Brush the hair gently in its natural direction using a soft brush.
- Remove light dirt with a clean, barely damp cloth.
- Do not soak or machine-wash the collar or lead.
- Allow wet leather to dry naturally at room temperature.
- Keep away from radiators, hairdryers and direct heat.
- Never apply oils or leather conditioner to the hair-on surface.
- Once the leather has matured, use a small amount of suitable leather conditioner only on the smooth leather underside and edges when needed.
- Test every cleaning or conditioning product on a discreet area first.
FULL-GRAIN LEATHER
Full-grain leather is the finest and strongest grade of leather available. Its natural surface remains intact, preserving the hide’s strength, grain and individual character. With use, it develops a rich patina while maintaining the substance expected from a premium collar and lead set.
BUFFALO LEATHER
Buffalo leather is naturally strong, substantial and durable, making it particularly suitable for Staffordshire Bull Terrier collars and leads. Its distinctive grain gives every piece individual character, while its dense fibres provide dependable structure and long-lasting quality.
VEGETABLE-TANNED LEATHER
Vegetable-tanned leather is traditionally produced using plant-derived tanning agents rather than chromium tanning. The process creates strong, characterful leather that ages beautifully and is suitable for premium dog accessories. Its initial firmness is a sign of its natural structure and it will gradually become more supple with use.
