Handcrafted character
Classic black leather and warm gold-coloured brass give this limited-edition set a striking, traditional finish. The flowing wave shape complements the iconic Stafford knot and Celtic detailing, while hand-dyeing and natural grain give each set individual character.
Why we choose full-grain leather
Full-grain leather retains the natural outer grain rather than having it sanded away, preserving its strong surface and distinctive markings. It is prized for durability and the attractive patina it develops with proper care. Top-grain leather usually has its surface sanded or corrected for a more uniform appearance; it can still be good quality, but retains less original surface character. “Genuine leather” simply means real leather and does not identify its grade or guarantee quality.
Why we choose vegetable-tanned leather
Vegetable tanning uses plant-derived tannins, traditionally obtained from materials such as tree bark. This traditional process generally takes longer than chrome tanning and often involves higher production costs and skilled craftsmanship. We choose it for its substantial feel, firm structure and ability to develop character with wear. Initially firm, it gradually becomes more supple through normal use.
Why buffalo leather?
Carefully selected full-grain buffalo leather offers strength, durability and a distinctive natural texture. Its substantial feel makes it well suited to handcrafted collars and leads, while variations in the grain give each piece its own character.
How to check the size
Fasten an existing collar at your dog’s comfortable wearing size, then use a flexible tape to measure its inner circumference — the surface that touches the neck. Compare this with the approximate 14–16-inch fitting range. Do not use the collar’s total end-to-end length as the neck measurement.
Cleaning and care
Wipe away everyday dirt with a soft, slightly damp cloth, then allow the leather to dry naturally. Keep cleaning gentle: avoid excessive soap, repeated scrubbing, soaking, household detergents and abrasive brushes. Dry away from radiators, hairdryers and prolonged direct sunlight.
Do not saddle-soap, oil or deliberately soften the collar when new. Allow it to settle through normal wear. Oils and waxes introduced during leather finishing help maintain suppleness; adding products immediately can alter the finish or over-soften the leather. Once well worn, use a suitable leather conditioner sparingly only if needed, testing a hidden area first. Hand-dyed leather may transfer colour when damp. Check the leather, stitching and fittings regularly for wear.
