How to Measure Using an Old Collar
For the most reliable fit, use a collar that already fits your dog comfortably.
1. Fasten the old collar on the hole normally used.
2. Place it on a flat surface in its natural circular shape.
3. Use a flexible tape to measure around the inside edge of the circle.
4. Do not measure the collar laid flat from end to end.
5. If the inside measurement is between 14 and 16 inches, this collar should sit comfortably.
Allow enough room to slide two fingers comfortably between the collar and your dog’s neck. Please measure carefully before ordering.

A beautifully handcrafted Staffordshire Bull Terrier show set combining premium suede, substantial full-grain buffalo leather and traditional solid brass Stafford details.
Why We Use Full-Grain Leather
Full-grain leather is widely regarded as the highest-quality grade of leather because the hide’s strong natural grain surface remains intact. It has not been heavily sanded or corrected to hide natural markings, helping it retain its strength, texture and character. Rather than wearing out quickly, well-cared-for full-grain leather can soften and develop a beautiful patina over time.
Why We Choose Vegetable-Tanned Leather
Vegetable tanning is a traditional process that uses tannins obtained from plant materials such as bark, leaves and wood. It takes considerably longer and requires more skilled handling than faster mass-production methods, making it more expensive and less commonly used for low-cost collars. We choose it because it produces strong, characterful leather without relying on chromium tanning salts, making it a considered choice for premium leather accessories worn by dogs.
Why We Use Buffalo Leather
Buffalo leather is known for its dense fibre structure, strength and distinctive natural grain. It creates a substantial base that helps the collar retain its shape while gradually becoming more flexible through normal wear. The double buffalo-leather underlayer provides strength and support beneath the soft sheepskin suede.
Our Own Solid-Brass Stafford Details
We commissioned our own solid-brass Stafford knots, Celtic buttons and decorative bars to give our show sets a distinctive finish worthy of the breed. These are substantial solid fittings rather than thin, hollow ornaments. The combination of rose-gold and gold polishing highlights the individual details and gives the set its luxurious appearance.
Quality Roller Buckle and Solid D-Ring
The quality roller buckle allows the leather strap to pass through more smoothly, helping to reduce unnecessary rubbing and strain when the collar is fastened. The D-ring is made from one solid, non-joined piece rather than a split or visibly joined ring, providing a strong and beautifully finished attachment point.
Why We Use Handpicked Leather
Natural leather varies from hide to hide, so each piece is selected by hand for its strength, thickness, grain and overall appearance. Handpicking the leather allows the artisans to choose suitable sections for each part of the collar and lead while preserving the individual character that makes genuine leather unique.
