C’ena’s First Adventure: New Sights, Sea Air and a Very Tangled Lead
Updated: 16 hours ago

With her puppy vaccinations complete and the green light to get out and about, C’ena was finally ready for her first proper outdoor adventure. And who better to share it with than her best buddy, Nova the American Bully?

We headed to Muchalls, near Stonehaven, where a whole new world was waiting for one very curious little Staffy.

Muchalls is a small coastal village just north of Stonehaven in Aberdeenshire. With a history rooted in fishing and farming, it sits above dramatic North Sea cliffs, surrounded by countryside and rugged coastal scenery. It made a lovely backdrop for C’ena’s first adventure — although she was probably more interested in the smells than the views!

So Much to See, So Much to Sniff

Her first lake, the sea, cliffs, hills and even peacocks — C’ena had plenty to take in. You might expect a puppy to feel a little unsure with so many unfamiliar sights and sounds, but she took it all in her stride.

There was no hanging back. She wanted to explore, play and find out what was around the next corner, with Nova alongside her.

She even managed to sneak a little of the peacocks’ grated carrot. Apparently, sightseeing comes with refreshments.

One Complaint About the Countryside
The outing did receive one poor review.
C’ena met her first stinging nettle and got a jab in the foot. She most definitely did not approve. A lovely day out, briefly interrupted by some unnecessarily aggressive vegetation.

Thankfully, there were plenty of other things to keep her busy: hay stacks, logs, sheds to investigate and pebbles to patter across. She loved playing, chasing and exploring. Watching her confidence, you would have thought she had done it all before.

A Promising Start to Her Crochet Career
For her first walk, C’ena behaved much better than expected. She was happy, interested in everything and thoroughly enjoying herself.
Our lead management, however, could use a little work.

We got tangled up more than once as she worked out how to explore while attached to a human. At times, it felt less like walking a puppy and more like helping her crochet a pair of trousers around my legs.

Still, we stayed mostly upright. A respectable result.

Straight to Bed
Once home, our fearless little explorer went straight to bed and fell asleep before she had even had her dinner.
It had been a big day for little paws.
New sights, new smells, a carrot opportunity and a best friend to share it all with — C’ena absolutely loved her first adventure.

One very happy puppy, one very tired puppy, and one lead that may never be quite the same again.
