UntitleNew In: The Burgundy Eagle Spiked Dog Collar by Hench Wear

Rich burgundy leather. Intricate eagle carving. Polished steel spikes. Our Burgundy Eagle Spiked Dog Collar has arrived, bringing bold detail and handcrafted character to the Hench Wear collection.
The burgundy centre panel is framed by black borders, giving the carving depth and definition. A mix of cone and angular spikes adds a striking finish, while the black padded leather inner provides a softer surface against your dog’s neck.

Crafted With Care
Handcrafted by skilled artisans using full-grain buffalo leather, this substantial collar features a hand-carved eagle and decorative patterns. Stainless steel fittings with a polished chrome finish complement the leather, alongside a solid D-ring and practical roller buckle.
Made through zero-waste manufacturing, it brings together carefully considered materials and distinctive leatherwork.

Why Full-Grain Leather?
Full-grain leather retains the hide’s natural grain surface, including its individual markings and texture. It is valued for its durability and the character it develops with use. Those small natural variations mean each collar has its own finish.

Why Buffalo Leather?
Buffalo leather is known for its pronounced grain and substantial feel. It suits a wide statement collar beautifully, giving the carving a textured backdrop. It may feel firm initially, becoming more supple with regular wear and appropriate care.

What Does Vegetable-Tanned Mean?
Vegetable tanning uses tannins derived from plant materials, such as bark and wood, to turn hide into leather. The process produces leather well suited to carving and tooling, helping decorative details hold their definition. Over time, vegetable-tanned leather develops a patina, adding depth and individuality to its appearance.

Size & Fit
This collar is 2 inches wide, with a recommended neck fit of 22–25 inches. Its full length is 30 inches, with adjustment holes measuring approximately 22–26.5 inches.
To check the fit, fasten your dog’s current collar at their usual comfortable setting and measure around the inside of the closed collar. No flexible tape measure? Use string or ribbon, mark where the ends meet, then lay it flat against a ruler.
Choose using the recommended neck fit rather than the collar’s full length.
Let the Leather Settle In
New leather can feel firm, so allow your collar to soften naturally through regular use. Avoid applying leather softeners, saddle soap or heavy conditioning treatments straight away.
For routine cleaning, wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth and allow to dry naturally, away from heat. Once the collar has had some use, apply a suitable conditioner sparingly only when needed, testing on a hidden area first.
Because of its projecting spikes, remove the collar before rough play or crating and use under supervision.
